How squads work
Athletic Squad training is similar but not the same as your usual club sessions. There your coach will work on your ball, stick, field skills; developing strategies and tactics in your sporting code of choice.
To some degree fitness training is built into the skill drills and/or on field/court tactical runs. Most good coaches will cover an additional fitness and strength training program for their players. More often than not, skill training over shadows physical conditioning which in turn becomes the athletes issue both on and off the field/court.
Performance Athletic Trainers core focus is about making you (the athlete) stronger, fitter, faster and mentally more switched on to your game.
The fun and exciting part of playing your sport is the skills of the game and getting to use then in a game. We understand this like we understand fitness and strength training isn’t as much fun but just as necessary. The endless, sprints, shuttles and suicide runs that are required to achieve that national level; are much more bearable with mates.
Performance Athletic Squads are about brining like-minded athletes together to achieve similar physical performance goals.
Its more than just running, each seasonal training round will have sport specific training programs which compound the physical gains. Enhancing your physical prowess on the sporting field.
